To officially launch the Financial Times in the region, Global Event Management was asked to organise a top-notch affair aboard the impressive QE2 cruise liner stationed at Port Rashid in Dubai. An exclusive guest list of top FT clients and media partners from the region were invited to take part in the event.
A branded gobo with the FT logo greeted guests as they approached the QE2 and guests boarded the ship walking the salmon pink carpet (FT brand colors) in true FT style. Hostesses were on hand to greet the 250 guests and direct them to the Queen’s Room where they partook in drinks and canapes and were entertained in true British style by UK entertainers Damien and Lizzy. Lizzy dazzled on vocals while Damien accompanied her on the piano to regale guests with well-known tunes and perfect pitch.
Four FT-branded digital signage gave guests the chance to plug in and view the 6 different channels of the FT, offering a deeper dive into the FT brand in the region.
GEM managed the full event from full staffing through to event setup and management as well as all production including lighting, audiovisual and audio. The event was certainly a success for all, and a warm welcome for the Financial Times to the region.
