The Middle East Banking Forum

For the third year running, Global Event Management was appointed by the Financial Times to run the Middle East Banking Forum at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City which took place on 11th November 2018.

The Forum is one of the leading banking conferences in the region, where senior executives and officials from banks, financial regulators and government entities gathered to discuss the major challenges and opportunities facing the industry. Through keynote addresses, panel sessions and on-stage interviews, speakers and panellists explained how these issues could be addressed to profitable effect.

The event saw an impressive lineup of speakers such as the Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency, Saif Hadef Al Shamsi, the Chairman of the UAE Banks Federation, His Excellency Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Brett King, best-selling author of Bank 2.0 and Bank 3.0, host of radio show “Breaking Banks” and Founder/CEO of mobile bank Moven, and Ollie Rehn, Governor of the Bank of Finland, among others.

GEM was involved in fully managing the event, from lighting, branding, and stage concept and build, through to setting up the digital registration kiosks, distributing and printing name badges, coordinating speaker permits, and overall event production and layout including floral and decorative elements.

GEM was instrumental in helping to coordinate speaker interviews at the event, which were filmed, edited and disseminated to the FT team. We also took control of all sponsor requirements such as stand setup and layout and all AV elements.

The event saw an increase in attendance from last year with almost 500 guests in attendance on the day. The most successful Middle East Banking Forum to date, GEM was delighted with the positive feedback from attendees and client alike and delighted to be involved in yet another successful FT event.
