Sand Tropez Beach Party in RAK

The stunning and expansive beach at Ritz Carlton Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah set the stage for a weekend of rest, respite and recreation where 800 colleagues could unwind and enjoy themselves. With ample space available, our objective was to create an intimate vibe while offering a diverse range of activities to cater to everyone's interests, and encourage fun, laughter and self-expression.

We had the idea to transport guests to a Mediterranean Coastal Town and the event soon got nicknamed, Summer in Sand Tropez. We created a scene from the French Riviera at the entrance, and used props around the venue, such as converted mini vans and mopeds to serve food and drinks from.

A stunning French trio played to guests on arrival and an artist alley allowed guests to have their portraits drawn by local illustrators in different styles.

Our quirky and fun photo opps were dotted around the venue, allowing guests to get creative with their photos throughout the weekend.

Our clients wanted to provide an array of different activities and adventures throughout the weekend, and GEM wanted to ensure that there was something for everyone. We crafted an activity schedule which would appeal to all tastes, from the thrill seekers, to the creative minds and the wellness enthusiasts, there was an experience for everyone.

Guests really enjoyed pushing their limits on the exciting obstacle course which we set up on the beach. The bag drop especially was very busy across the weekend, and it was wonderful to watch colleagues encouraging each other to face their fears and jump. Teams got together to compete on the hilarious inflatable games, which included human foosball, football darts, and zorb-ball football.

Ras Al Khaimah is the perfect playground for the thrill seekers. We arranged for different groups to explore some of RAK’s famed adventure spots, including trips to the UAE’s highest mountain, Jebel Jais, where guests flew across the world’s longest zipline and zoomed down the mountain on the Sledder. We also had a group head over to the Bear Grylls Camp for a course in survival. Plus, hikers explored hidden cities in the mountains.

Guests really enjoyed the opportunity to attend some of our wellness activities including, yoga, pilates, sound healing and meditation, plus an expressive painting session allowed our creative guests to be inspired.

However, the most popular of our wellness activities was certainly the ice-baths, which we set up on the beach. Both newcomers and experienced ice bath enthusiasts enjoyed this revitalizing and  invigorating experience.

Of course, all good beach parties offer delicious food and refreshing drinks, and chilled DJ vibes throughout the weekend.

Guests had a fantastic time enjoying each other’s company and soaking up the atmosphere. During the final sunset of the weekend, we arranged a group drumming session with our fabulous African musicians, which culminated in the guests dancing to the beats during the sunset – it was the perfect way to end a memorable weekend.
