Guinness World Record For The Largest Flower Display: 50th National Day, UAE

Established in 2017, Floward is the go-to online flower and gifts destination in MENA and the UK. They offer prime fresh-cut flowers sourced from growers and farmers from around the world and these are arranged locally, by a team of florists and designers. 

Floward honoured the historic occasion of the United Arab Emirates’ 50th National Day with a historic achievement of its own. The brand broke two Guinness World Records,  titles for the “ Largest Flower Number “ and “ Largest Flower Word”, when they spelled out ‘UAE 50’ at Address Montgomerie hotel on Wednesday, 25th November.  

A team of 25 designers took over 6 hours hours to complete the monumental task of assembling the world’s Largest Flower Number and Largest Flower Word, using a total of 16,491 roses across both attempts. The entire process was carried out under the watchful eyes of GEM Events and Guinness World Records Official Adjudicators teams, who scrutinized every aspect of the record attempt from start to finish. The finished record-breaking piece, standing 3.6 meters high, was a true work of art and a fitting tribute to UAE’s Year of the Fiftieth.  

GEM Events provided total event planning management; from creative support, design, production, décor, staging and audio/visual with full on-ground implementation and management. The outdoor garden venue consisted of a main stage and platform with overhead tent and 5m LED screen, where keynote speeches, floral installation and Guinness World Records award presentation took place, against a 20m backdrop. As well as enjoying floral themed entertainment and a live DJ, guests also enjoyed canapés and floral themed mocktails while being surprised with a mesmerizing 450 drone show lit up the sky with a 10 minute aerial ballet that told the story of the life of a Floward flower, from seedling to bouquet.
