'Landed on Mars' Annual Company Gathering

Bigger and better than the year before was the name of the game with our long-standing client, a leading consulting agency in the region, and we were happy to oblige them with this year’s ‘Landed on Mars’ theme for their annual team gathering. The beautiful Qasr Al Sarab was the setting for this spacey transformation.

The day began with coaches from Dubai busing everyone to the 5-star resort just over 3 hours outside of Dubai in the heart of the red desert. Events kicked off with a ‘treasure hunt’ to get everyone in the true spirit of the company team activities. Our guests then made their way back to their rooms to prepare themselves for the evening’s festivities, while the GEM team got stuck into transforming the stunning Qasr Al Sarab poolside setting.

With the mystical UAE sand dunes posing the perfect backdrop, the evening’s entertainment got underway. Ranging from alien paint drummers, a David Bowie spaceman-style sax player, our intergalactic electronic cellist and a mystical mermaid, guests were treated to a true planetary masterpiece.

Guests dined on a sumptuous spread of sushi salvers, fruit platters, live cooking stations and full dessert bar. Cocktails and beers were in abundance. The international DJ flown in for the weekend made sure everyone partied until the early hours.

The evening wound down with a roaring firepit in the desert where guests smoked shisha into the early hours of the morning while roaming entertainers made sure our guests lacked for nothing.

We have no doubt that the weekend of 12 & 13 April left a lasting impression and many memories in the hearts and minds of our client and their staff (and dare we say the GEM team too!). In the words of the thrilled client:

"A big, big, big thank you for organizing an absolutely fantastic event. I had my doubts going into this about whether we could deliver to the level that people have come to expect, but your team really did manage to surpass it. The organization was superb and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Please pass our thanks to the whole team!"
